About Hannah Ward
Hannah Ward
"I am blessed that God has called me to serve the children and families of Nativity Preschool and Kindergarten as I begin my 15th year teaching here.  I received my undergraduate degree from Lenoir-Rhyne University and my Master of Science in Education from the University of Dayton.   It brings me joy to nurture in the children an excitement for learning and an appreciation for God’s amazing creation.  My husband and I have two children who are graduates of Nativity Preschool.  We attend church here at Nativity and are active in a variety of church activities. I am an advocate for animals and regularly foster cats and dogs for local rescue organizations."

About Carolyn Anderson
"I am excited to return to the NPK family this year.  I received Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from East Carolina University and worked as a registered Occupational Therapist in both hospital and nursing home settings. My husband Tim and I have been married 20 years and have two children.  I have had the privilege of home schooling both our children through their 8th grade years. My family and I are members of Nativity Lutheran Church, and I enjoy serving in the music, worship, and education ministries."

Class Philosophy
Children this age are ready and eager to learn so many things.  They absorb language at an amazing rate and are rapidly developing socially, emotionally, physically, cognitively, and spiritually.  Our classroom uses a variety of learning centers in which children learn though hands-on games and activities.  In addition, daily group times allow for instruction, discussion, songs, and stories.  Because developmental levels can vary greatly among children at this age, we differentiate instruction to allow each student to progress at a rate appropriate to his or her level.   Daily prayer and devotions reinforce Christian values and remind children that they are created by and loved by God.
